Molecular Epidemiology and Environmental Epigenetics  


The Center of Molecular Epidemiology and Environmental Epigenetics (COME) is devoted to the study of the mechanisms through which molecular and environmental  factors concur (interact) in determining health and disease  in human subjects and populations.  Our research emphasizes the role of the environment we live in as a potential determinant of the risk of complex, multifactorial human diseases. Research programs are mainly focused on the comprehension of epigenetic mechanisms such as DNA methylation, histone modifications and microRNA expression.
